A new study published in the July 5 edition of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences online issue pertains to child abusers. The study involved female rhesus monkeys raised by biological or foster mothers that were abused. More than half of the abused monkeys abused during their first month of life became abusive mothers themselves.
