What Happened in Huntsville?
Update to this story at bottom of page.Nathshay Yvonne Ward is 33 years old. Friday, police went to her apartment and discovered the bodies of her 3 children, Shanieka Y. Ward, 11; Latricia Ward, 9; and Christopher O. Ward, 8. Each child was in a separate bedroom and had been dead for several days.
A year ago Nathshay's car broke down, since then she had been walking her children to school. Neigbors say that is the only times they would see the woman and her children. The children were well behaved, the mom very quiet. She had always paid her rent on time.
The electricity had been cut off since January 12. The apartment complex where the family lived had been preparing to evict them. The chidren had not attended school since Christmas break ended. Department of Human Resource workers had gone to the home in December but were Nathshay would not let them in. Concerned family members had been trying to visit for weeks but no one would answer the door.
The police responded Friday after the children's concerned grandmother called them.
